This has been one of the busiest two weeks we have had in a long time. The girls have kept busy and kept us busy.
Audrey likes helping with the dishes.
Katie has been making beautiful art...we got out the easel and she painted many, many pictures.
Audrey likes to paint, too.
Katie started swim lessons. She went everyday for 1 hour for 2 weeks. After her swim lessons it was free swim so Audrey got to spend some time in the water, too. Both girls gained tons of confidence in the water. Audrey likes to jump off the side of the pool into your arms. Both girls travel all over the pool while wearing their life jackets.
While Katie took lessons Audrey and I ate lunch and played on the playground.
Both girls love the air mattress we have for movie night. We usually keep it up over the weekend so they can play on it. I blew it up one weekday because it was rainy and we were getting stir crazy stuck inside.
Eventually we couldn't stand staying in much longer so the girls played in the rain and mud while Daddy and I sat on the front porch.
Audrey loves watching big sister...I love the way she holds her little hands.
The girls and I have a Sunday morning tradition of eating blueberry muffins.
Poor Audrey wanted me to read a book but, I couldn't at the time so she got her baby and read the story to her. Even though the book is upside down she was reciting the words perfectly!
Daddy made a tent in Katie's room.
The girls helped us cook chicken teriyaki. They chopped bell peppers and helped stir the sauce and chicken.
Katie can read after bedtime. We find her curled up with a book, sound asleep, quite often.
We've been going on some bike rides recently. The girls and I went one morning and found a roly poly and blackberries.
When we got home we found a tiny toad. We caught it and brought it inside. The girls drew pictures of him and then we let him back go. We've been learning about frogs/toads lately so it was a lot of fun for the girls to see one up close.
We made a racetrack with masking tape.
Our last day of swim lessons Daddy came and we all got to swim for awhile afterwards.
We went on another bike ride Saturday morning.
Then we headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house for Grandpa and Uncle Gene's birthday party.
Aunt Vicki got the girls some fireworks.
They quickly ran out of poppers so we ran to the fireworks stand and got them a whole bunch more.
Uncle Gene and Grandpa with their birthday cake.
