Week of June 17, 2013: Flower Girl

This week we focused on the letter M and the color blue so we made monster slime!  Katie loves it's squishy texture and has had tons of fun with it all week.

Squishing the glue and liquid starch together to make her slime.

Our favorite spot to pick blackberries is really taking off.  We went to check on the progress of the berries and were able to pick a grand total of 6 blackberries.

Our sweet Audrey Ann turned 2 months old!

Katie got all of her summer reading done and was able to get her prizes (a medal and a stuffed prairie dog).
Lots of fun at the library this week as we headed outside for popsicles, sidewalk chalk and bubbles.

Knox came over for a play date and of course the kiddos wanted to play in the water.

The highlight of our week was my beautiful cousin Christina's wedding!  Katie and Myla were the most adorable flower girls anyone has ever seen and they did such a good job!  Katie was absolutely convinced that T was a princess and spent the whole evening following her around.  If T was out of sight Katie would get so worried and ask over and over "Where princess go?  Oh no, princess gone!"  She was simply amazed at Princess Christina.

After their part in the ceremony Katie decided to kick back and relax

Friday was the wedding and it took place in Arkansas so we didn't make it home until midnight that night.  After a long day Friday we spent Saturday relaxing by the pool.

Week of June 10, 2013: Father's Day

A complete photo bomb this week but, there were just too many cute pictures to pass up not sharing them.  We've been staying cool in the warmer weather by eating lots of watermelon and playing in the water.  Katie is crazy about water and has been having fun meeting friends at the splash pad and playing in the backyard with the waterhose.

Audrey has been keeping cool by snoozing through our outside playtime.

Knox and Brex came over for a visit...Knox and Katie played with the waterhose.

We worked on the letter O, color purple and rectangles this week.  Katie made an octopus out of the letter O.  First she colored her O.
Then she practiced gluing by gluing on the octopus' legs.

Katie and Daddy took care of their babies.  Katie is all about copying everything Daddy does.  They are buddies!

This week at library was Dad/Papa focused so Papa got to come to story time!

Katie painted pictures for her Daddy, her Papa and her Grandpa Vaughan

Of course after painting you have to have a bubble bath

Look at those beautiful blue eyes!

So glad we got this picture...4 generations of ladies.

Katie got to share some coffee with her Daddy and I over the weekend.  Can you tell she's excited?!  She knows it's a special treat and she actually liked it!

Katie has been taking hold of everyone's hand and praying.  Here she is holding Audrey's hand and praying (maybe she's thankful for her coffee lol).

Week of June 3, 2013: Princesses and Splash Pads

This week has been all about princesses.  As I'm sure everyone is aware by now Katie has reached the princess stage of girlhood.  She loves dressing like a princess, dancing like a princess, playing with princess dolls, watching princess movies...you get the idea.  This week we added to the princess collection by getting Katie a carriage complete with horse and Sleeping Beauty doll.  Katie went nuts over it and has played with her princesses almost exclusively all week.

Of course every princess needs a castle so Katie and I made one out of a cereal box and some toilet paper rolls.

Ms. Audrey, our princess in training.

Knox and Brex came over for a playdate.  Knox and Katie wanted to play in Katie's bed and boy did they have fun "sleeping" and of course jumping on the bed.

Katie posed like this all by herself and wanted me to take her picture.

This week we worked on the letter N and the color orange.  We tried to watch Finding Nemo to go with our N/Orange theme but that failed miserably.  Poor Katie was so upset that "Nemo gone!" that we had to turn it off.  Oh well, maybe in a few months she'll be ready for Nemo.  She still got to create a orange fish by putting oval "scales on a fish shape.

Audrey watched...
Then she got to play with orange play do and cut out fish shapes with cookie cutters.

We also made a snail, caterpillar, beetle and frog with legos.  There's some cute little lego duplo books that tell a story and give instructions on how to make the characters for the story.

This is the result of spaghetti followed by an ice cream sandwich.

The hilight of our week was on Saturday when we went to the park and played at the splash pad...
 ...Audrey slept.
