What a whirlwind of fun activities we've enjoyed the past two weeks! Between beautiful weather, birthday parties and Daddy's vacation we've been happily occupied.
Our sweet little Lillie dog being so patient while getting her picture taken. Doesn't she look thrilled?
We enjoyed zoo and ocean week with the kids the past two weeks. The kids made some marble painted zebras. They had a lot of fun with this project and really enjoyed rolling the marbles around on their paper.
Katie had her doggy paint a butterfly picture while Daddy and Audrey painted.
We used do-a-dot markers on paper plates to make twisty snakes.
This beautiful girl turned 2! We wrapped her gifts to give her on her birthday morning. Katie had picked out a couple of schleigh horses for Audrey and Daddy and I got Audrey a schleigh barn.
Knox and Brex came over on Audrey's birthday and we all enjoyed cupcakes!
Reading before her birthday party. It was quiet in the house because Daddy and Katie were at recital practice.
Audrey had a dog themed party. Reasors made the cake and did an excellent job.
Dancing to Elmo music.
Poor Audrey did not like all the attention on her. When everyone sang happy birthday she just wanted to disappear with Papa. Katie ended up blowing out her candles. But, once the attention was off of her she had a good time playing with her friends, opening gifts and eating cake.
The next day we got to celebrate Brex's birthday at the park. The kids enjoyed cupcakes and pizza. Then they got to visit the creek and play at the park.
Ocean week started with playdoh and fish creations. The kids made imprints of their fish. Katie worked a long time to get a fish anemone just right.
Our caterpillars finally arrived. The girls have had fun watching them grow. Katie has been working on a caterpillar science journal.
Since Daddy was on vacation he made some delicious cinnamon rolls!
We visited the aquarium during ocean week. The girls loved the jellyfish, manta rays, the touch tanks and the turtles the most. They even got to feed some rays.
The touch tanks had starfish and other tidepool critters to touch.
Fish in the amazon river. This exhibit had a tunnel the kids could go through and ladders leading to the top where the kids could be inside the tanks.
Feeding the rays.
They had lots of fun riding on the alligator at the front of the aquarium.
The girls go all dressed up in hats and sunglasses to go to the zoo.
Audrey conked out before we even got there.
Watching the penguins.
Daddy decided to make an impromptu sandbox. It turned out huge and the girls love it! All the girls' friends were over when Daddy started to put it together so they all got to help.
They took turns riding the wagon and helping push sand back on the wagon.
Playing on the sand pyramid was a lot of fun.
Daddy and Katie practiced for recital again and both of them returned worn out.
Katie working on her caterpillar journal. She is doing a fantastic job!
Audrey likes to do whatever big sister is doing so she worked on her caterpillar journal too.
Lots of room to play in the sand together.
