Week of August 2, 2015

We have had a wonderful week full of school, family and even a little bit of outside time.
Monday the kids practiced writing letters on chalkboards.  They worked really hard on their letters and helped each other with some of the more difficult letters.  Our motto when it comes to school is "Encourage one another and build each other up."

Monday afternoon we joined Knox and Brex at the swimming pool.  The girls' swimming suits were wet from swimming the day before so they swam in their shorts and t-shirts but, they didn't mind!

Daddy reading to his girls.

Tuesday the girls and I went to Target and they each picked out a headband.  They were very proud of them.

It was nice enough Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning to spend some time outside.
The girls drove their jeep around.

They found a spider and crickets in their old sandbox.

They dug in their big sandbox.

They found a tiny toad by their sandbox.  We talked about how the toad was camouflaged with the ground but, when he went by the tree he was easier to see.

Wednesday morning we spent all morning outside with Knox and Brex.  The kids raked leaves and played with Jack.

Audrey still enjoys taking care of Jack and giving him grass.

We picked a gourd out of our garden.

Wednesday night we had a surprise visit from Grandma and Aunt Vicki!

Thursday the kids had fun playing with legos, which is a new favorite at our house.

During the afternoon while Audrey napped Katie used yarn to make power lines on her lego house.

The girls made cilantro eggs for breakfast Friday morning.

Saturday we spent the day at Grandma's for her birthday party.  Audrey and Katie helped bread the okra to fry.

Of course when you go to Grandma's there's always furniture to move (haha!).  Now we have a bigger table to fit us all.

Little Katie wanted Aunt Vicki to cut her hair...a little trim and her hair looked beautiful!

As you can tell she loves her hair being cut.
