Week of August 16, 2015

These are the looks of two sleepy girls, woken up so they can get ready for their first day of CC!  I'm not sure Katie knew what to expect, even though we have talked about going for months now.

Our first day of CC went wonderfully!  Katie worked really well with her tutor, with very minimal help from me.  She teared up at first when she went to the front of the class for her presentation but, after the first few seconds she started smiling and did wonderfully!
Audrey did very well entertaining herself throughout the class and I was even able to take some notes to help us through the week at home.
Both girls had fun playing on the playground with the other kids.

Tuesday Knox and Brex came over and we had our first full day of CC at home.  Honestly, it couldn't have gone better!  The kids were really excited and retained 90% of the information they had started learning the day before.  We had such fun doing the memory work together.

The girls traced Africa and found the Fertile Crescent, Mesopotamia, Sumer, the Tigris River, the Euphrates River and the Mediterranean Sea.  Wow!  I couldn't even find the majority of these locations until Monday.

After memory work we all went outside and played in the rain.  Then the kids came inside and we got out their science journals.  They all drew pictures of the rain.  Katie drew lightning and clouds in her journal.

Math for Tuesday was pattern blocks.

Wednesday we finished our schoolwork quickly so we could take Lillie to the groomer.  The girls and I hung around town and visited our favorite stores while we waited for Lillie.

Katie decided to do Monday's presentation on her guinea pigs so we took pictures of her and her piggies to take to CC.

Wednesday night Katie had a hard time sleeping and seemed to be getting sick.  We cancelled their friends coming over Thursday.
Thursday the girls and I spent all day outside doing school and playing.  Katie seemed groggy and rested a lot throughout the day.  In the end we realized she just had some bad allergies...thankfully she wasn't sick.

We also had a picnic outside on Thursday.

The girls relaxed on my lap and ate their lunch.

Beautiful Lillie, all groomed.

The girls and their Daddy built a house together out of a box.

We took a walk and the girls took turns walking Lillie.  Surprisingly Lillie didn't pull them around.
