Week of Sept. 7, 2014: Apples

We had a busy start to our Apple week...Knox and Brex joined us for preschool on Monday and Katie started dance class Monday night.  We also added a new family member which contributed to the excitement and business of the week.

The kids started off apple week by painting with apples.  Audrey tried to eat her apples but, all the kids made beautiful apple prints.

We have had so much fun with our new little guy Beau this week!  He is a parrotlet and already quite the little character.  The girls have had lots of fun playing with him and showing him off.

Katie had her first dance class of the year Monday night.  She loved it!  There are about 11 girls in her class and 5 teachers.

Katie has been even more crafty than usual lately.  She enjoyed gluing pom poms and fruit loops (because we ran out of pom poms lol) to an A picture.

We had tot school Tuesday at Boaz's house.  We decorated bags to put apples in then, went across the street for some apple picking at a neighbor's house.

We spread a blanket on the ground and ate our apples while we listened to a story.

Then we headed back to Boaz's house to feed the chickens the rotten apples.  Audrey saw the chickens from quite a distance away.  She was so excited that she dropped her bag and ran to the pen with her face pressed against the fence.

Back in the house we played with playdoh and ate lunch.  Then the kids played awhile before we headed back home.

At home Daddy and the girls made apples with our cinnamon-scented playdoh and some leaves.

On Wednesday we played outside while Knox and Brex were here.

Audrey found the one spot left in the yard with mud...she was very proud of herself.

The weather was so nice Wednesday night that we went on the trail for a walk.

Beau has become very outgoing throughout the week.  Thursday at lunch he jumped onto Katie's plate and started eating her broccoli.

Daddy frying bacon while Beau chills on his shoulder.

Katie is always asking to help...lately she has begun getting silverware out for everyone before dinner and setting the table.

This little mess is too cute!

All of our apple art for the week

We moved the sandbox and put in brand new sand.  The girls spent a long time Sunday playing and digging.

I washed Audrey's blankets and sheets and as soon as they came out of the dryer she wanted to snuggle up in them.
