Week of April 28, 2014: Setting Our Butterflies Free

We were able to successfully raise 5 caterpillars into painted lady butterflies!  The girls really enjoyed the whole process and we learned a lot about caterpillars and butterflies along the way.  I think the favorite part for the girls was letting their butterflies go.  They loved watching them fly away and Katie even got to hold one or two before they took off.

Getting ready to open the cage.

Audrey was very curious about the whole process.

Katie has enjoyed drawing with sidewalk chalk this week.

Both girls love dancing and doing the motions to the songs from our Handwriting without Tears curriculum.  Tap, Tap, Tap is their favorite song because they get to tap their wooden pieces together and make lots of noise.

The girls' new baby dolls have also been a big hit this week.

We set up a clothesline for Katie and she loved putting felt clothes on the line with clothespins.
She was very proud of herself when she was able to hang a piece up.

  Katie and Daddy made biscuits.

We enjoyed a construction themed play date at Evan's house.

It's warm enough now to break out the water hose and play in the (still freezing cold) water.

Katie and Daddy took apart her toddler bed to make room for an actual full size bed.

Audrey had an awful time with allergies this week so she slept a lot.  During one of her extra long naps Daddy made a fire outside and we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows.

We visited Papa's house and saw the new baby goats.
