We had such an amazing first week of getting back into what we call normal. Part of our normal routine is working with the girls on developmentally appropriate learning. So, with that in mind we found a great 3-year-old curriculum for Katie and started it this past week. She has loved it! It has been challenging without being frustrating and she has learned so much in just a few short days. It incorporates Bible, alphabet, shapes, numbers, colors, calendar time, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, reading, pre-writing, scissor skills and other skills. Another benefit of this curriculum is that we can include Audrey in activities, too. This week we started with S is for Snowman.
We had lots and lots of reading time which is Katie's current favorite past time.
We started learning our days of the week with a fun clapping song.
We ordered snowman by size.
Daddy and Katie worked on some pre-writing.
Evan came over for our play date and they were both excited to make snowmen out of shaving cream.
Katie worked on matching skills.
We ordered a few learning toys to help complete the program and Katie was beyond excited to open the box. For the first time she screamed in excitement lol!
Katie and Audrey got busy going through the box of goodies.
Of course Katie was most excited about the books...including Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and Chicka Chicka 123.
Katie started creating with her do-a-dot markers right away. Audrey crawled over to the picnic table and watched big sister with great interest. It won't be long before she'll be right in the middle of creating, too.
One of the new items was upper and lower case magnetic letters.
The do-a-dot markers have been a favorite this week. I've had to print off extra color sheets for Katie because she loves using them so much.
Katie worked on color matching by matching colored scarves to their matching snowmen.
Of course, we still had plenty of time for just goofing around and playing.
We had movie night Saturday and watched a few movies...can you tell Katie is in the zone?
Audrey is really getting into crawling mode and has been very mobile.
Hooray!
Audrey and Lillie are best buddies.
Daddy and his girls always have fun creating with legos.
Katie and I made the letter S out of legos.
We had some decent weather and were able to bundle up and head outside for a little while.
It's been great to get back in the swing of things.
