Katie turned 10 months old on saturday. Her daddy had been on vacation for the whole week so we were all being spoiled to spending time with each other. He was excited for her 10 month old birthday and wanted to pick out her outfit for her pictures.
We measured baby girl and she had grown about 1/4 in since last month. It's hard to get really good pictures of her anymore because she is always on the move and our camera is starting to slow down a bit.
I love the look on her face...she's thinking "What are you doing to me?"
She learned to click her tongue...she was in the middle of a tongue click in the picture below.
10-month-old Accomplishments
*She eats everything, and I mean everything. We definitley have a good eater!
*She "cruises" on all the furniture and stands up without holding onto anything for a few seconds.
*We think she's trying to say doggie. She loves dogs.
*She loves stuffed animals and baby dolls...she is terrified of stuffed cows that moo lol!
*She still enjoys books and likes to turn the pages while you read to her.
*She's constantly on the move...the only time she's still is when she's sleeping.
*She is very friendly and goes to anybody...there's been a few times at the library where she has reached for a complete stranger.

Our Week: Daddy's on Vacation!
Rich has been on vacation this whole week! Whoo hoo! It has been such a relaxing time for all of us and we are having fun just being together.
Monday I had my wisdom teeth taken out....ugh, I know but it was not that bad at all. We dropped Katie off at my Dad's where she got to play with all 6 of his dogs and pet the horse. I know she had a great time because when Dad dropped her off late in the afternoon she was passed out and stayed that way in her carseat for about 45 minutes. I felt kind of groggy that night and went to bed early but having my teeth yanked out wasn't that bad. Here is a goofy picture of me moments after waking up from surgery...I've got to post it so I can laugh at myself.
Tuesday we relaxed at home. Even though I was feeling really good we thought it was best to relax and take it easy just in case.
Wednesday we went to Target and Old Navy. Katie got some cute little jellies from her Aunt Vicki but her feet were too chubby so we had to trade them in. We got her some little white sandals because they were out of jellies.
Katie tried on her other shoes, too.
She's been needing some bath toys and we found some cute, floating turtles. They have magnets that link them together...she had fun playing in the bath with them.
We also got her a tiny baby doll. You can buy other outfits to put on it and it has a stroller, crib, high chair, etc. She really likes pointing to the different body parts like nose, eyes, etc.
We had storytime at the library thursday. I think Katie loved having her Daddy there and it was neat because the theme was "Families".
Katie and her Daddy played puzzles before storytime started.
Then they cuddled during storytime....
and did the teddy bear song...
and made a craft.
Daddy also taught Katie how to play the pots and pans....
and catch a ball.
Other firsts for Katie this week include eating her first hot dog and spaghetti.
She got a special treat when Daddy rolled her bananas in his fruity pebbles cereal.
Our baby girl is hilarious...while Rich was cutting up a lemon for tea he was letting her touch and smell the lemon. When he took it away to squeeze for the tea she reached for it so he decided to let her try a piece just to see her funny face. Well instead of puckering up she proceeded to suck the insides out of an entire half a lemon! She never made a face!

Our Week: Lots of Visiting
This week started with a birthday party for my Grandma. We went to my grandparent's house on Sunday where Katie got to celebrate Grandma's birthday with her first cake and ice cream! Katie enjoyed chasing the dogs (including the new puppy) and playing with everyone.
On Monday we went to my other grandparents' house. Grandmother had an area all set up for Katie to play, including pillows to climb on and a coffee table with some new clothes and books. Katie stood up by herself for a few seconds for the first time while at Grandmother's. We made chicken tacos, courtesy of the Pioneer Woman and they were pretty tasty.
Tuesday we relaxed....yay! I am so thankful that it was nice enough outside for Katie, Zak and I to go on a walk. We all really needed it and Katie had so much fun watching Zak run around.
Wednesday Knox and Julie came over. Katie was so excited to see Knox. We are working with both of them on sharing but, it seems that whatever one has the other one wants. They are really cute to watch together!
Thursday was storytime...one of my favorite days of the week! The theme this week was friends and Katie made friends with two twins who were visiting their Grandma from Norman. Their names were Kyler and Kaylie and they had so much fun reading to Katie. We ended up staying at the library until the afternoon.
Friday Katie and I went to Dad's office and visited for a few hours. Katie had fun being pushed in a tub by her Pops.
Katie has stood up by herself for a few seconds a couple times this week. She has also learned to open cabinet doors.
We've come up with a new method of getting Katie clean. We like to call it Zakie Dog AutoWash.
The problem with this method is then you have to wash the Zakie Dog slobber off of her.

Our Week: Extra Ordinary
We had a pretty awesome and ordinary week this week. I got to try out a new and hot weather friendly way of making pizza.
Katie got a miniature version made with tomatoes, basil and mozzarella.
Rich was off Monday and Tuesday and we had doctor's appointments both those days. Monday Katie had her 9 month old check-up (no shots, yay!). Tuesday Zak had his yearly vet visit. Both our babies are healthy! (May I also add that they are heartworm, flea and tick free!)
We had to do a little work on the jeep so we went to the part's store on Tuesday before Zak's appointment. We also stopped by Chili's where Katie enjoyed french fries...let me correct myself, she enjoyed licking ketchup off french fries until the fries were mush.
Wednesday Katie had her playdate with her friend Knox. This is our third playdate with Knox and it is the third time that the poor boy has been asleep for part or most of the time lol! They ended up getting to play for about 30 minutes before we had to go but, Katie enjoyed spending the first hour and a half of her playdate being spoiled by Julie and I.
Thursday was pretty darn busy. We had storytime Thursday morning. The theme was The Dog Days of Summer and they brought a therapy dog in for the kids to pet. She was the absolute sweetest and calmest dog I have ever seen. Her name was Molly and as soon as Katie saw her she started wiggling and trying to get to her. She let Katie crawl all over her and give her kisses. Molly's owner Don was pretty smitten with Katie (who wouldn't be?) so we ended up staying and playing with Molly long after the other kids had tired of her. By the time we left Katie was covered in dog hair and Molly was covered in Katie slobber.
Then she proceeded to her new favorite activity pulling up and getting down, then crawling to the next thing and pulling up and getting down.
We only check out board books at the library now because Katie is very hands-on with her books and is learning to be gentle with them and to turn the pages.
Other than that Katie has been busy this week trying strawberries which she loves. I don't think there's anything that girl won't eat.....
..............practicing using her sippy cup......
.......playing with a watermelon.....
.......kissing a watermelon.......
....and just being so darn adorable!
Now for the goofiness of Katie
Please don't ask what the blue thing is in her mouth...I have no clue.
Daddy didn't realize that you had to unbutton her dress to pull it over her head...
On a side note I had a small epiphany today. I am a Mom. No the reality has not all the sudden hit me but every now and then a little thing will strike me like a lightning bolt. For instance I got a new purse (yay!). Do you know my qualifications for this new purse? That it be big enough to carry my stuff and Katie's stuff. Well folks here it is!
And here's what's inside...
I am a Mom...I buy a brand new purse and fill it with keys, wallet and Katie goodies!
On a complete side note I'm also working on a website/board thingie that I'm still trying to figure out. It's called pinterest. You can follow my board here http://pinterest.com/srv/ I'm still playing around with it but it seems like a great way to organize and create wishlists, decorating ideas, etc.
