We've had a lot of fun this week!
After CC on Monday we went to Chick-fil-A with some of the kids' friends and my Mommy friends. Everyone had a great time visiting and playing. After lunch we went to Atwoods and picked up 4 baby chicks. Although we can't have chicks in our city yet we are going to raise up these little girls and give them to Boaz and Selah.
I was surprised at the girls' reactions to the chicks. Usually Audrey is our animal girl but, when it comes to chicks Audrey is being more cautious. Katie, on the other hand, is loving these babies! She picks them up and carries them all over the house, sits and watches them and baby talks to them.
Tuesday all the kids' friends came over and we went on a walk down the trail. The kids picked dandelions and raced towards each lamp post.
As we were walking we spotted some cows close to the fence. The kids walked up to the fence and started mooing at the cow. I thought the cow was friendly and I was wrong! He started butting towards the fence and pawing at the ground. We quickly made it back to the trail before he broke through the fence.
My favorites...can you tell they love each other?
Yes, the chicks have ended up at our kitchen table many times.
Thursday Katie, Audrey, Knox and Brex spent two hours decorating the chick pen.
The girls and I started a new tradition this Sunday...poetry tea time. We dressed up in fancy clothes, drank tea, ate muffins and read fun poems. We also read I Corinthians 13 as part of our tea time.
Sunday afternoon the girls had the best time playing in the water hose and mud!
