Week of April 10, 2016

What an interesting, crazy week.  It started off with our last day of CC for the year.  Katie's class had an end of year party.  For science the kids went on a compass walk to find different treasures.  They had a lot of fun running all over the campus...not sure how much they used their compasses, though!

When we got home from CC we were surprised with a hot wheels speedometry set.  I signed up months ago for a free set from hot wheels that included lesson plans on speed, velocity, etc.  This thing was huge!  I think it had 48 cars and hundreds of tracks.  The girls had fun playing but, when Daddy woke up and made a huge track across the kitchen, dining room and living room they enjoyed it even more.  Monday night Katie started to get a fever and missed out on dance class.

Katie ended up falling asleep on the couch and while she was sleeping we noticed that the baby finches had started to hatch.  We ended up with 4 babies.

Tuesday we took Katie to the doctor.  They ended up doing a CT scan to check for appendicitis so Katie and I spent the whole day at the hospital while Audrey had fun at Knox and Brex's house.  We never found out what was wrong with Katie but for the rest of the week she ran a fever off and on and felt bad.  It wasn't until friday that she was back to normal.

Reading in Mommy and Daddy's bed before bedtime.

Holding baby chicks makes anybody feel better.

Letting the chicks out to play in the sun.

Katie and Audrey gave one of our chicks a check-up.  They also decided that she would look great with Barbie's sunglasses on.

Friday and Saturday we worked in the yard and garden, planting ;flowers, cleaning out flower beds, mowing and cleaning up.  The girls each got to pick out some flowers and a pot for their own little flower garden.

Watching a little earthworm dig into the ground.

Sunday morning the girls and I enjoyed our poetry tea time outside.  We drank iced tea and ate cinnamon rolls.  Their favorite poem of the day was Shel Silverstein's "Crowded Tub".
