Week of November 1, 2015

The weather has been so beautiful outside this week.  We've got to enjoy lots of time with friends outside.

Katie used her birthday money to buy a Little Live Pets Mouse.  Katie and Audrey enjoy taking them out on the back patio and letting them run around.

Jack has got to run around in his exercise pen a lot this week.  Lillie would love to get in there and play with him but, I'm not too sure Jack would appreciate her in his space.

Sunday evening we found many different plants and animals in the backyard.  Our milkweed pods opened and the girls blew the seeds around the yard.  We also gathered some to plant next year.

We were looking for tendrils (which is part of our memory work this week) when we found a ladybug.

There are still caterpillars around.

This little turtle has been in our yard several times over the summer and fall.  He has a bite mark in his shell so it's easy to tell him apart from other turtles.

We went to the zoo with some of our CC friends.

Katie always wants to help with cooking but, sometimes it can be difficult because Audrey wants to help too.  Every once in a while we have a meal where both girls get to cook.  We had steak and green peppers this week and the girls helped chop up the bell peppers.

Daddy and Audrey reading together.

Katie helping make cinnamon toast, a favorite breakfast around our house.

Using tongs to lift corks.

The girls have been making lots of "stews" and "soups" outside.

The girls have been making tunnels and ramps for Jack in his exercise pen.

Saturday we took our first trip to the Botanical Gardens.  The girls got to make a plant press.  We also got to meet Boaz and Selah for a hike in the woods.

The terraces had a waterfall and the kids loved throwing leaves in and following them down to the bottom.

Beautiful little girl!

We picked some persimmons on our walk and took them home to cut open the seeds.  All spoons which means lots of snow this winter.

Sunday the girls outlined their bodies with chalk and colored themselves in.
