Week of December 30, 2014

The last two weeks have been rough ones.  Everyone except Katie has had a pretty bad cold with Audrey taking the brunt of it and being the sickest.  But, this week we tried to get back into normalcy and we even managed a few days of school. 

 

The girls strung pony beads on pipe cleaners and made candy cane ornaments.  Katie worked on lacing her beads in a pattern.  I was amazed that Audrey had the fine motor skills to be able to string the beads on her own.

We made a race track on the floor with masking tape and the girls raced their cars and themselves along the track.

We enjoyed several nights by the fire...we read a lot of books by the fire.

We made peppermint clay and the girls made candy cane ornaments.

Katie used an old box to make a train.  She crawled inside so she could decorate the inside with markers.

We made cookies and roasted marshmallows over the fire.

Saturday we were all feeling up for an outing so we wen to the zoo. 

The girls saw the elephants...

...the new rhino exhibit...

...got up close to a grizzly...

...saw the tropical reef tanks...

 and the seahorses. 

We've also got our elf Snowy back and she brought along her little sister Holly.  Katie brought her elf to the zoo and you can see her in some of the pictures above tucked into Katie's jacket.
