Two weeks: Last week of September through first week of October: Our 6 Year Anniversary

We have had a wonderful two weeks..Rich was on vacation for over a week so we've been having lots of fun with the girls.

Katie and I made a fall sensory tub.  We added fake leaves, acorns, pumpkins, gourds and fall smelling candles to our tub.  The great thing about this sensory tub was that Audrey could play with most of the pieces.  Katie had fun bringing her leaves and pumpkins and Audrey loved getting the chance to explore these items.  I'm going to have to figure out how to make tubs that are good for both girls more often since Audrey is to the age where sensory is very exciting and new to her.

Audrey turned 5 months old!  She is such a wonderful little baby.  She is very easy going and cuddly.  She's working on sitting up and is almost there.  She gets so excited while sitting up that she throws her arms out and topples over lol!  She rolls perfectly from her belly to back and is working on rolling from back to belly.  She is grabbing everything in sight and her hands are constantly in her mouth.  She loves standing up and has lots of fun in her jumper.  She is also crazy about Lillie.  She laughs and squeals when Lillie walks by and tries to grab her.  She is also very interested in Katie and tries to get her attention.  She's starting to eat her cereal better but, still hasn't mastered solid food, yet.

Katie had fun building letters with legos and tracing those letters with her fingers.  We were able to make I, T, F, H and L using the legos.

Dance class is Katie's new favorite activity.  She got her leotard tutu and loves getting dressed up for class.  She's the only little girl in her class that doesn't cry when she leaves her parents and goes to dance class....she loves it!

Who knew yarn could be so entertaining?  We ended up cutting up a whole thing of yarn into short pieces for a sensory tub activity.

Katie made a happy/sad monkey at storytime.  She didn't want to color at the library but, when we got home she painted it right away.

Audrey's working on holding her bottle.

With Daddy on vacation we got to have breakfast outside and enjoy the cooler temperatures.

I also got to cook...oh how I love cooking.  Katie and I made meatballs then we turned some of those meatballs into meatball calzones.  We also made banana bread, pumpkin bread and chocolate chip cookies.

Daddy and Katie made calzones out of playdough.

We went to the fair.  The best part, of course, was the food but, we also had fun walking around, playing in the children's center and watching Katie ride a pony.

A friend of mine and I have started a little preschool co-op for our almost 3-year-olds.  Since Rich was on vacation and wanted to watch the fun we had it at our house the first week.  We read a book called "Nuts to You" about a squirrel then did some acorn activities.  The kids found the letters to their names and spelled their names, they painted with acorns, ate an acorn shaped snack and made peanut butter.

The theme at storytime was At the Fair so Daddy and Katie made a ribbon.

One of the hilights of our vacation was visiting the park where Rich proposed.  It's such a quiet, lovely park and we visited each year on our wedding anniversary.  This year the newspaper wanted to do an article on us since we come back every year to the same bench and get our pictures taken.  It was pretty exciting to have them come out and interview us and take pictures.  They have replaced the original bench where he proposed but, it's still the same spot.  There's also two trees that grow side by side that I have stood behind since I was pregnant with Katie.  We love the progression of these pictures.

Katie has been writing in her journal-sometimes a long time, sometimes for a minute or two.  It's fun to see what her little mind comes up with.

She's also practiced gluing.

The craziest thing happened...we were all sitting in the bedroom when we heard a huge bang on the back door.  A hawk had flown into the patio door and hit so hard that it killed it almost instantly.  We were hoping that it had just knocked him out because other smaller birds hit the window all the time but, he didn't make it.  It was pretty amazing to see one up close.
