Week of May 6, 2013: Mother's Day

Yet another wonderful week at the Vaughan house.  We've enjoyed having Daddy home so much and have been able to spend some great time together as a family.  We've done lots and lots of outside time.  The weather has been perfect!

Ms. Katie is a little performer.  She uses this water sprayer in the backyard as her microphone and sings at the top of her lungs.  She's starting to make up songs, too.

Audrey loves it outside just like her sister.  It has been just warm enough for her to lay back and relax.

Knox and Brex got to come over for a visit this week!  Katie was so excited to see her buddy.  She kept trying to hug him and tickle him.  At one point she kept trying to sit on his lap but, as you can tell Knox wasn't too happy with that idea.

We got to break out the new double stroller Papa and Tina got us.  We went for a walk on the trail (my first time out of the house in two weeks).  Katie liked to ride part of the time and walk part of the time.

Ms. Audrey is such a relaxed baby girl.  She likes to lounge back with her hands behind her head.

We visited the park this week also.  Katie ran all over, trying out every piece of equipment.  She's really pretty good at most of it and has no fear.  She climbed this rock wall all by herself, with Daddy right there to catch her.  Surprisingly she was able to pull herself up and find foot grips.

Katie, Audrey and I went on out first outing by ourselves, to story time.  It went pretty perfectly...Audrey slept through the whole thing and Katie had fun dancing to some new songs and having a "tea party".

Audrey is getting more alert every day and will spend 30 minutes or so after eating wide awake and moving around.  She likes to look right at you and watch you talk.  She also likes you to hold her hands.

Katie discovered dandelions!

We took a trip to the nursery in town to pick out some flowers for Mother's Day.  My idea of a perfect mother's day was to spend time with the little people that made me a mother so we decided to buy plants for the gardens and to make some fairy gardens.  Katie's favorite part of the nursery was the cat...her and that cat followed each other around the whole time.

My little thinker.  She puts her hand under her chin like this a lot.  She always has such a serious look on her face when she does it, too.  Love this baby girl!

We invited Grandmother and Grandfather over last minute for mother's day.  Grandmother and Katie played with some magnetic "paper dolls" that GM had gotten for Katie.

We all went in the backyard and planted flowers.  Katie and I made GM a gnome garden for mother's day.

Then we made two fairy gardens for us...one in the shade and one in the sun.

GF bought Katie a dwarf tomato plant and they got to plant it together.

Look at those little muddy hands!

We had such a wonderful time with my grandparents and were so thankful we could spend the day with them!

Lillie is really good with Audrey.  Don't worry, I don't leave the two unsupervised together and Audrey does not sleep with us.  I had laid her down on the loveseat and covered her up so I could fix Katie breakfast and Lillie decided to cuddle up to her.
