We've had a nice week...although we've only had one day of getting to play outside. Daddy and Katie built a fence in the backyard right by the vegetable garden. The plan is to plant morning glories all along the fence to help beautify the vegetable garden area. We'll build on this idea each year until we have a little arbor/garden area.
Daddy and Katie working hard.
We had a playdate with Mr. Knox on Wednesday. The two kiddos played dress-up...
...played with puppets...and
...played with the doctor kit...
One of our boredom busters for when the weather is just too cold to go outside is playing with dried beans. Katie enjoys measuring and pouring them into different containers.
Amazingly Katie fell asleep with Daddy one afternoon. It's very difficult to get her to go to sleep anyplace except her carseat or her bed but, she was worn out. Of course, Rich soaked it up!
At storytime on Thursday the librarian had made an igloo out of milk jugs. Katie crawled right in and was taking the other kids by the hand and dragging them in, too.

On friday we had a doctor's appointment. I'm 34 weeks now so we did our final ultrasound to check the weight of the baby. She (it is definitly a she) is about 5.25 lbs. We also found out that I'm already 2-3cm dilated. The doctor thinks baby sister should be here before her due date (May 4). We're hoping she lasts until 36 weeks. Katie was a few weeks early so we expect this baby to be early also. Now to think of a name...
Saturday we got busy working on baby sister's room. We got it all cleared out and now have all of her furniture scattered in every room of the house. We'll get to paint this weekend and our house we'll be put back together again.
Sunday was COLD and it was snowing so what did we decide to do? Go to the zoo, of course! No, we're not completly crazy. We have a zoo membership so we get in free and we wanted to see the new buildings that had opened up the week before without worrying about the crowds. Plus Katie really needed some open spaces to explore and run since we haven't been able to go outside. We bundled up and hurried to the buildings.
We visited the chimps first. Katie had fun climbing on the rock wall in front of the exhibit.
In one of the buildings there was a cave that Katie ran in and out of.
The desert building had a big room with benches and lots of varieties of finches flying freely. We all sat on the benches and watched the birds.
Also in the desert building were different varieties of reptiles. Katie and I looked for them in the exhibit.
Today is Monday...our slowest day of the week. It's still too cold to play outside so we are really looking forward to some nice weather days ahead. This little girl needs to run off some energy!
