This week has been full of lots of water activities! We've been wanting to get Katie a kiddie pool for some time now...we were able to go to Target this weekend and pick out this fun little pool. The sides blow up and are low enough for Katie to get in and out of by herself.
As the pool began to take shape she got more and more interested. Lillie jumped in as soon as she could and I think that helped Katie be more comfortable with the pool. She started playing with the blue dinosaur head. You're supposed to put balls in it's mouth and they fall out through a hole in the bottom and into the pool.
Daddy got in the water with Katie and she really got excited. She had so much fun splashing around with her Daddy and sliding down the slide. Lillie was jumping in and out of the pool, too. The rest of the week it has been impossible to keep one or both of them from jumping in the pool every chance they get.
We took a trip to Copan Lake. They had a nice sandy beach and there was only us and two teenage girls there the whole time we were there. We were able to find a spot under the trees in the shade to lay out our blanket and have a picnic. Katie wore her swimsuit/life jacke for the first time.
When we first stepped into the water Katie was fearless. She kept walking forward but as the water got deeper she realized she couldn't see her feet and wanted to turn back. By the end of the afternoon we had her in water up to our chests and she was trying to swim. She wanted to float back and forth between Rich and I. She tried to move her arms and kick her legs to move herself along.
Daddy and Katie built sand castles.
Having a picnic in the shade.
We had a playdate with Knox on Tuesday. Knox wanted Katie to dress up in his superhero outfit which included cowboy hat and cape. He put the hat on her head and wanted me to put the cape on Katie. I think Katie was very confused...Knox was pointing at her and laughing...he loved her dressing up.
It wasn't long before Knox wanted to wear his superhero costume...that boy is too funny!
Katie had a wonderful time making some more beautiful art for the fridge. She liked using her paintbrush and her fingers for this project.
Katie helped me make cilantro lime tacos for dinner. She liked adding all the ingredients to the food processor. Of course, she had to taste test them before she added them. Her favorite was the almonds...mmmmm.
She loves to sing and dance. She turned over her Easter basket and played it like a drum while she sang.
All the studs are up in our den! Next step is the electrical and the doors!
Katie and I planted watermelons.
