We have had such a busy week...what's new there?  Sunday we went to my grandparents for my Grandpa's birthday dinner.  They got a new puppy and Katie loved torturing...uh I mean cuddling Sassy.  Katie loves seeing all her family and we hope to make a trip to my other grandparent's very soon.

Katie also learned to drive this week!  She's growing up too fast!

 

She wants to feed herself ALL the time.  Even when we need to feed her with a spoon she grabs the spoon and tries to feed herself with it.  It's very messy but at least she's learning, right?

She's starting to pull up on everything...even completly vertical surfaces like the back door.

Zak has gotten to be spoiled this week.  He's enjoying hanging out in the air conditioning and playing with Katie.  We got him a new toy...which Katie loves, too!  Pretty soon I'm going to find them eating out of the dog food bowl together!

We went to the dentist for a teeth cleaning and he gave Katie a toothbrush.  He said to let her chew on it while we brush our teeth that way she'll get used to having it in her mouth.  She loves being able to brush her teeth with Daddy in the morning.

Katie had another playdate with her friend Knox on wednesday.  Knox and his mommy Julie came over to our house to play this time.

Thursday we went to the library for storytime.  The theme was Christmas in July.  The kids sang Christmas songs and got some bells to jingle and shake during the songs.

They also got Christmas cookies...yummy!  Katie had red and green icing all over her!

After storytime Katie played with Benny the Bear.  Every week the kids get to dress Benny up in an outfit that fits the theme.

9 Months Old

Our sweet baby girl is 9 months old today!  The time continues to fly by and we try to soak up every minute we can with Katie. 
Katie had her first play date today with a little boy down the street named Knox.  His mom, Julie and I met while I was taking Katie for a walk.  Knox just turned 6 months old.  We went to Julie's house and the babies got to play on the floor.  We tried to teach them to be easy with each other and to share toys...they really seemed to enjoy watching each other.

We got her a kitchen playset a few days ago.  She likes pushing all the buttons and opening and shutting the oven.

We measure Katie every month on her height chart.

Here's an update on all of Katie's accomplishments

*Last week she started pulling up to her feet and taking steps when you hold her hands.
*She shakes her head and says nuh nuh (no no)
*She has added yogurt, pasta, cheese, goldfish crackers and cantalope to her list of foods.
*She loves to feed herself and even tries to feed herself yogurt with a spoon.

Momma in Focus Friday

This week's prompt was orange and I had this wonderful idea to get Katie eating her first cantalope...sadly the cantalopes at the store weren't ripe enough.  Oh well!  Rich got some cute shots of Katie getting smothered with Mommy kisses.  Maybe the cantalope will work for next week because the theme is fruit!

And of course we had to get some Daddy tickles in too!
