Week of January 18, 2015

We learned about mixing colors this week with two of the kids' favorite books, "Monsters Love Colors" and "Little Blue and Little Yellow".

 

After reading "Monsters Love Colors" the kids made their own scribble monsters.

 Audrey is becoming quite the little clown so she thinks it's great fun to get others to laugh at her.  While making scribble monsters she decided to color on her face.  Thank you Crayola for ultra washable markers.

We had a couple of beautiful days this week so the kids got to get in some good outside time.

Beau was being particularly feisty one morning and decided to hang off Daddy's head while he did dishes.

Audrey has been extremely mischievous this week as you can tell by the looks on her face in the following pictures.  She loves getting a reaction out of people.  The girls used paint to mix colors together.  Katie mixed all her colors together to make brown.  Audrey painted her feet and body haha!

After reading "Little Blue and Little Yellow" the kids made their own books using tear art.

We redid our room this week which is a project that we have been waiting to do for years.  Katie helped us paint Friday afternoon while Audrey took a nap.

Week of January 11, 2015

We had a fun week learning about Snowmen!  Knox, Brex and Boaz came over Monday to play.  The kids made playdough cookies and played in the hot chocolate sensory tub.

 

We had one of the girls' favorites for dinner, spaghetti!

Katie made some puffy paint while Audrey napped. 

She painted with her easel a little bit.

Then moved to the floor to work on the rest of her paintings.

The girls helped me cook cheddar biscuits.

Beau loves broccoli and the girls love feeding him.

We made sticky sand on Thursday.  The sand was very moldable and easy to work with and the kids really enjoyed playing with this new sensory tub.

We have got to go outside several days this week because of the beautiful weather.

We were even able to take a trip to the zoo on Friday.

 The sea lions were out and they were very playful.  We probably watched them swimming and diving for 20 minutes or more.  Katie said they were dancing.

We stayed for quite a while in the dessert room.  The girls had fun climbing on the rocks.  Daddy and I had fun watching all of the little finches that free fly in the room.
