Oh boy, what an interesting two weeks it has been! We had our first trip to the e.r. for Miss Katie. She got a viral infection and ended up getting very dehydrated. She started passing out at the breakfast table so we took her to the e.r. She did wonderfully! She was very brave during the i.v., ct scan and xrays. The doctor and nurses were all very impressed with how well she did. Once she got some fluids in her system she was good to go and even though she tired easily over the next couple of days she is now back to her normal self.
Before Katie got sick the girls and I made a visit to the park. Audrey wanted to sit with me on the bench while Katie played with the other kids. Then all three of us went for a walk around the pond.
The girls have enjoyed water play outside every day for the past couple of weeks (minus Katie's sick days). The weather is really heating up so it's one of the only ways to play comfortably outside during the day. We've also been playing outside right after breakfast to beat the heat.
Katie, Audrey, Knox and Brex all enjoyed painting last week.
We found a huge moth and watched it for several hours before letting it outside again.
After we got back from the hospital Katie wanted ice cream for dinner...and of course we said yes! Audrey also got some yummy ice cream, with deliciously messy results!
The girls have painted many times over the past couple of weeks.
We brought out the playdoh and although Audrey had a hard time not sampling some the girls both enjoyed playing.
We also signed Katie up for another year of dance. She starts September 8 and she is really excited. We start our preschool lessons and tot school again the week of September 1. We've got lots of fun activities, field trips and learning planned!
