Week of May 27, 2013: Memorial Day at Spavinaw

Memorial Day was this week and we were able to meet some of my family at a local creek.  Katie loved, loved, loved the water.

Our garden is really benefiting from all the rain we've been having.  The mint has taken off and we've been able to make some flavored waters and teas with it.  Katie enjoys eating it straight out of the garden.

A favorite activity for Katie this week has been playing with her magnetic paper dolls.

The girls and I went to wally world to pick up a few more plants to complete our gardens.  We also found a cute little garden gnome.  Katie loved him right away so needless to say he hasn't been in the garden much.  If you look closely you can see the little guy sitting in the car with Katie.

Katie got to use her wagon to bring all the flowers to the backyard.  She was very proud and excited to be able to help.

A couple of ladies at the library were kind enough to throw a little baby shower at the library for Ms. Audrey.  We enjoyed getting to eat lunch and play a game with all the other mamas and their kiddos.  Ms. Linda held Audrey while Katie and I ate then we were able to snap a quick picture before Katie ran off.

The kids played in the children's reading center while all the moms played a game and visited.

Ms. Audrey slept through it all.

Despite the rain and our backyard being soaked we've spent lots of time outside.  The peas are producing quite a bit right now and need to be picked twice a day plus we've got a busy two-year-old who needs to get all that energy out.

Talking to a frog.

Hannah came over and Katie loved it!  They got to paint together which is one of Katie's favorite activities.
