Momma in Focus

I'm keeping up with a blog that has a weekly post called Momma in Focus.  The objective of Momma in Focus is to encourage moms to get in photos with their children.  This week's theme was Easter but it was hard to get a really good shot of me and the baby girl.  But, we did take a really great picture of the two of us a few days later...it's not Easter related but I'm pretty pleased with it.

Sitting Up

We've been working for several weeks to get Katie to sit up on her own.  She's been doing really well...she is sooo strong!  We sit her up with her boppie around her to help support her and to cushion her when she tumbles over.

Well today marks the day that she sat up on her own for a grand total of fifteen minutes!

She's growing so fast I can hardly believe it!  Here's an update on all the other things she can do:
* Sits up
*Rolls front to back and back to front
*She's slept through the night since Christmas
*Puts the binky in her mouth
*Eats oatmeal, avocado, green beans, apple/prune juice and peas
*Reaches and grabs anything and everything and puts it straight in her mouth
*Wears size 0-3 pants and anywhere from 0-6 month shirts
*Turns around 360 degrees on her belly
*She loves our dog Zak, she thinks he's hilarious...and the feeling is mutual!
*Also loves the fish tank and tries to grab the fish

Easter

Katie was born October 20 so although she was with us at Thanksgiving and Christmas she didn't quite join in on the fun...you know what I mean?  Easter is our first holiday to spend with her where we can really see her reaction to what's going on.
We searched for about a month to find the perfect Easter basket.  We wanted it to be big enough to stuff it full and sturdy enough for it to last since we plan on using it year after year.  We finally found the perfect one at Pottery Barn Kids.
Her Daddy and I decided it would be fun to decorate it every year in Katie's favorite colors.  Since she currently doesn't have a favorite color we decided on going with the pink/green theme that's in her room.  Here's a few pictures of us putting on the ribbon.

After putting on the ribbon we put some teeny tiny little letter charms on the basket that spelled out Katie.....

Then Daddy had a brilliant idea-he put colored ribbon behind the charms to make her name stand out...

The best part was watching our baby girl opening her basket on Easter...

We got her a bunny book...
But I think she enjoyed the grass the best....

And of course Pops and Tina, Aunt Vicki, Grandma Sue, and Grandmother gave her some Easter goodies, too!

We've survived 6 months!

Our baby girl turned six months recently and it is amazing, sad and awesome how quickly that time has gone by.  As though of you who are parents will know already time seems to go so slow or so fast depending on the moments.  We feel so blessed that God chose us to raise our sweet little Katie Bell.  Today I wanted to share some of my favorite pics of her from birth until 6 months.

I am certainly no expert but one thing I have learned in the past 6 months is that you will never regret a single second you spend with your baby!
