Week of July 21, 2014

We've had a great, normal routine week!  The girls have gotten to go swimming a few times in their little pool.  They love going outside and taking turns spraying everything down with the water hose.

Audrey is able to do a lot more art projects.  We got her some different markers because she was chewing the tips off of all the regular markers.  Katie and Audrey both used the markers several times this week.

We got a bunch of strawberries from bountiful baskets.  Katie and I made Daddy a strawberry pie...Katie pressed the crust into the bottom of the pan.

Katie, Audrey, Knox and Brex painted some beautiful works of art.  This was Audrey's first time painting and she did a fantastic job!

We were able to easily sell our big 55 gallon fish tank to make room for a parrot cage.  In a few months we'll be getting a quaker parrot.  We put the cage up in advance so the girls (especially Audrey) could get used to it.  The girls helped Daddy put the cage together.

We enjoyed a Little Red Hen themed tot school this week.  The kiddos listened to the story, acted out the story with puppets, did a patterning activity and made biscuits and butter.  We also had some new friends join us, Isabella and Thomas!  Katie finally has another girl in the group!

The girls took care of their babies, which is one of Miss Audrey's favorite activities.

We got a little umbrella stroller for Audrey and the girls wanted to use their markers to color the cardboard that the stroller was packaged in.

Miss Audrey is getting so big and is super smart!  When I got home from the grocery store on Friday she took the groceries out of the bag and put them in the fridge.  Then this morning I asked her to take the laundry from the bathroom to the washing machine (just to see what she would do).  She bent down, picked up a handful and walked all the way to the washing machine!

Week of July 14, 2014

The weather has been simply amazing this week (we're talking 70's...in July...in Oklahoma) and has allowed for tons of outside time with the girls.

Knox and Brex came over both Monday and Tuesday.  We spent the majority of the day outside, playing on the swingset and the patio.  The little time the kiddos spent inside, they enjoyed playing dress-up.

Brex and Katie cuddled up in the den after lunch to play with Katie's leappad.

The weather has been so cool and so wet lately that the blackberries are growing really big.  We've only been a few times but, we've picked a few gallon freezer bags full.

We had a drive-in themed tot school at Evan's house this week.  The kids decorated boxes and made them into cars.  They also got tickets to spend at the "concession stand".

Katie and I made a blackberry custard cake with some of the blackberries we picked.

Both girls really love their baby dolls but, Audrey in particular plays with them on a daily basis.

We were able to get Katie a few more preschool items.  We ordered some preschool curriculum from My Father's World.  Katie was so excited when it arrived on the porch.  Both girls have been playing with the toys everyday and I can tell it's going to make for a very fun preschool year.

We ordered a bountiful basket this week with a strawberry add-on.  The girls went through a container of strawberries in one sitting.
Looks like the last really beautiful day was yesterday so we spent this morning outside in the cool.  Katie found our big toad and all the girls (including Lillie) were fascinated with him.
