Week of July 1, 2013: 4th of July and Zoo Trip

Our week was a busy one, as usual, but I was not very good at capturing our activities in pictures.  We visited our berry patch a couple times.  Once we met Naomi and Boaz and the next time we met Ms. Linda and her granddaughter.  We've gotten about a cup of berries each time and Katie loves playing in the field and picking flowers.  

 

Katie and I made banana bread.  She loves sitting on the counter and helping me cook.  Her favorite foods to cook are the ones that she can taste the ingredients.  Of course with the banana bread she loved licking her finger and dipping it in the sugar.

Although we stayed at home on July 4, Katie, Audrey and I wore our old navy 4th of July shirts.

We took a trip to the zoo Saturday with Grandmother and Grandfather.  We stayed in the new buildings and Katie rode on the carousel.

Maybe it's just me but I think this might be my favorite picture of Katie that I have taken. 

Week of June 24, 2013: Ocean Week and Aquarium Trip

Those of you who enjoy pictures of the girls (and who doesn't?) will love this post!  We've had a great week learning about the ocean in preparation for a trip to the aquarium.  

 

 Both girls have been all smiles this week!  Lots of "say cheese" moments!

We went to check on the berries again.

We made our weekly trip to the library...

Katie was a big help around the house.  She likes dusting and laundry the best.

 We were able to pick some basil and make bruschetta.

We had a great time at the aquarium with Grandma Sue, Aunt Vicki and Ricky.

After our aquarium trip Katie made an ocean in a bottle. 

She liked showing it to Audrey.

Week of June 17, 2013: Flower Girl

This week we focused on the letter M and the color blue so we made monster slime!  Katie loves it's squishy texture and has had tons of fun with it all week.

Our favorite spot to pick blackberries is really taking off.  We went to check on the progress of the berries and were able to pick a grand total of 6 blackberries.

Our sweet Audrey Ann turned 2 months old!

Katie got all of her summer reading done and was able to get her prizes (a medal and a stuffed prairie dog).

Lots of fun at the library this week as we headed outside for popsicles, sidewalk chalk and bubbles. 

Knox came over for a play date and of course the kiddos wanted to play in the water.

The highlight of our week was my beautiful cousin Christina's wedding!  Katie and Myla were the most adorable flower girls anyone has ever seen and they did such a good job!  Katie was absolutely convinced that T was a princess and spent the whole evening following her around.  If T was out of sight Katie would get so worried and ask over and over "Where princess go?  Oh no, princess gone!"  She was simply amazed at Princess Christina.

Friday was the wedding and it took place in Arkansas so we didn't make it home until midnight that night.  After a long day Friday we spent Saturday relaxing by the pool.
