The Past Two Weeks

We've had a wonderful and busy two weeks.  We took Katie for another trip to the zoo with her Great Grandma Sue, Great Aunt Vicki, Cousin Rick, Cousin Nathan and Aunt Krissy.  It was such a beautiful day for the zoo and Katie walked around about 75% of the time.  She had such a great time getting spoiled by everyone and seeing all the animals.  She liked seeing the snakes and saying "ssss".

Daddy and Katie writing at the kitchen table.  She's recently learned how to climb up onto the chairs at the kitchen table.

Katie kicking the ball for Lillie.

"Mowing" the lawn.

Katie got a Mr. Potato Head.  She loves taking him apart and putting him back together.  Daddy and Katie played with him while I cooked dinner.

Aaaaahhhhh, Katie kisses are the best!

It's been warm enough for Katie to play outside in the water.  The water is still really cold coming out of the hose but Katie doesn't seem to notice.

Katie got some colored pencils and has had a lot of fun coloring with them.

Blowing bubbles in the backyard.  See Lillie in the background?  She loved chasing the bubbles.

Lillie's getting bigger.

Painting a letter "K" for Katie!

Jumping up and down in the trailer.

There's four or five frogs that come to the back porch every night to eat the bugs.  Katie loves following them around in the morning.  They're getting really big and fat...must be all those june bugs.

Dancing to the teddy bear song during storytime.

Giving Lillie kisses.

We took Katie and Lillie to Petsmart for dog food.  Katie loves the birds...Daddy held her up so she could see the parakeets.

We've had another wonderful week filled with lots of activity!  I've started selling thirty-one products and have been working on getting the word out and trying to book parties.  Katie and Lillie have enjoyed playing outside...most times you can hardly get them to come inside!

Katie and Lillie had fun playing with the bags I got from thirty-one.

The two little troublemakers love playing in the new garden...and eating dirt.

I love Katie's face in the background.

Katie relaxing in the chair.  She put her hands behind her head and sighed.  Looks exactly like her Daddy!

We got Katie some wooden blocks.  Her and Daddy played with them all afternoon.  Daddy built towers and Katie couldn't wait to tear them down.

We tried a new recipe for refrigerator oatmeal...Katie gobbled it up, as usual!

Knox came over to play.  He's going to be a big brother next week!  Katie and Knox played with Katie's new dollhouse.

Katie and Lillie are inseparable.  You can bet if you can't find either one of them that they're into trouble together.  The other day I walked into Katie's room and found them laying on the floor eating cheez-its together.

Katie had some fun with art this week.  She used her new stampers and markers that she got for Easter and her new fingerpaint.

There's been a turtle hanging around in our yard the past few days.  Katie likes to watch him but she's not quite sure what she should do with him.

Katie got to have her first peanut butter and jelly sandwich this week!

I love pinterest, they have so many ideas that I use for Katie.  Here's a simple fine motor skill activity where she puts straws through holes in a container.

Our baby birds have hatched, grown and now have flown away.  Here's one of the babies the day they flew away.  We had so much fun watching them grow up and Katie loved being able to see them everday.

Katie also turned 18 months this week...wow!  Everyone has been asking what words she says so here's a quick rundown of all the words I can think of.

Daddy
hi
bye
done
bath
bubble
ball
no (she learned this recently because Lillie kept taking her toys lol!)
cup
eat
dance
Elmo
one
wheee (when she wants to swing)
She also knows animal sounds (moo, quack, meow, woof, baa, etc.)
She can tell you where her head, hair, eyes, nose, ears, belly, foot and toes are.

Easter

The day before Easter Katie enjoyed painting Easter eggs.  We weren't quite ready to try using the dye this year so we had Katie paint the eggs with her crayola washable paints.  (Washable being the key word)
She was very serious as she went about painting each of her eggs.  She concentrated and dipped the brush into each color.
And this is why washable paint was wonderful!
Grandma and Grandpa Vaughan came over Saturday night to give Katie some special toys.
Here's Katie's Easter basket from Daddy and Mommy...books, stuffed animals, finger paint and of course Easter eggs.
 Katie's completed Easter eggs.
Opening her Easter basket on Easter Sunday morning.
Reading the story of the meaning of Easter with her Daddy.
Pops and Tina came over Sunday morning to give Katie her Easter gift-a garden wheelbarrow with shovel, trowel, plastic pots and flowers.
 Smelling the flowers.
We went to Grandmother and Grandfather's were both Katie and Lillie got more than enough love.
Such a sweet picture of Grandmother and Katie.

Hunting Easter eggs at Grandma and Grandpa's house.  She had fun playing with her cousins.  The boys were so sweet to help her find eggs and put them in her basket.
Grandma made this adorable outfit for Katie...notice the pink ruffles on her bum...too cute!
